The Ministry of Education, Government of India, has launched the Prime Minister Research Chair (PMRC) Scheme, a flagship initiative aimed at attracting distinguished researchers and scientists of Indian origin working abroad to contribute to India's higher education and research ecosystem.
The Scheme offers opportunities for Research Chairs, Senior Research Fellows, and Young Research Fellows to undertake high-impact research, teaching, mentorship, and innovation in leading Indian higher education institutions, national laboratories, and centres of excellence. It covers priority sectors including Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technologies, Semiconductors, Healthcare, Biotechnology, Climate Change, Space, Cybersecurity, Advanced Materials, Manufacturing, and other national mission areas.
