As part of celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (75 years of India’s independence) and the birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, the Embassy is organising a special webinar on the theme “Rabindranath Tagore and Latin American Connect” on 9 May 2022 at 18h00 (BRT). The event will have a special lecture by well-known Indologist Prof. Dilip Loundo and remarks by Mr. Elson Gomes, Honorary Consul of India in Belo Horizonte. It will be streamed live via Embassy's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/indiainbrazil ) in Portuguese.
Bio of Prof. Dilip Loundo: Dilip Loundo is a Professor and Coordinator of the Centre for Studies in Religions and Philosophies of India of the Graduate Program in Religious Studies at UFJF. He holds a Ph.D. in Indian Philosophy from the University of Mumbai (India), a Post-Doctoral degree in Sanskrit, and Indian Philosophy from the Sanskrit University of Karnataka (India), a Master's degree in Philosophy, and a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from UFRJ. He was Visiting Professor (Shivdasani Fellow) at the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, Oxford University, and at the School of Languages, Literature and Cultural Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (India).
