The Embassy of India in Brasilia hosted a Republic Day Reception at Belo Horizonte, on 28 January 2022 as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) celebrations, which was attended by the Secretary of Strategic Affairs of the Federal Government of Brazil, Special Advisor, and Representative of the Vice-Governor of the State of Minas Gerais, Secretaries of various important departments of the State of Minas Gerais, Honorary Consul Generals of India in Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, Honorary Consul Generals of Russia, Peru, England, Bulgaria, Romania and Austria, CEOs and Executives of reputed business establishments in Minas Gerais, Representatives of India-Brazil Chamber of Commerce and Indian companies present in Minas Gerais and representatives from Indian diaspora as well.

Mr. B. C. Pradhan, Charge d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy in his address to the guests, highlighted the transformative changes in Indian social-economic and political spheres in the last 75 years, the evolution of India-Brazil relationship to strategic relationship, and the future growth prospects in India-Brazil economic relations.
